The CFD shown in Figure C-7 shows the time-ordered sequence in which commanding processes execute. A linear sequence of processes are performed during system configuration. Another set of processes occur before each contact. During contact, a linear sequence of processes is normally performed for each command or command block. This sequence is repeated for each command in the command plan during contact. However, for a specific commanding mode called asynchronous commanding, the post-command check and evaluation functions may be performed concurrently with command selection and transmission. This mode is not represented in the diagram.
