Figure A-1 illustrates the information base relationship for the Mission Planning application. The information base includes a database of physical parameters, RGF characteristics, mission requirements, display formats, and vehicle configurations. In addition, the information base contains a knowledge base, which contains scheduling constraints and assists in detection and diagnosis of orbit and attitude anomalies. There may also be some code needed for converting between specialized coordinate frames.
Figure A-1 also depicts the layered relationship between the information base elements anticipated in the SSCS application. The first layer contains general information required by Mission Planning for any mission. Subsequent layers address specific data required by each mission area, program, block, and satellite. This information-driven architecture allows a common Mission Planning application to support multiple satellite programs.
