Theme: Software Cost Modeling Extensions
Experiences with the use of COCOMO® II have led to the identification and exploratory development of a number of extensions to mainstream software cost modeling. These include emerging extensions described in the COCOMO® II book*: sizing alternatives, COTS integration, rapid development, quality estimation, productivity estimation, and risk assessment; plus others under exploration such as systems engineering cost estimation.
We would like to encourage submissions in these and other SCM-related areas as a theme for C/SCM 16. Other candidate extension areas could include estimation of other quality attributes, system benefits, and return on investment. Of course, contributions in improving software cost and schedule estimation are encouraged also.
As in recent years, the Forum will be complemented by a USC Affiliates' workshop on the theme topic. The overall schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, October 23.
AM: Tutorial, "COCOMO® II Update and Extensions," Barry Boehm
PM: Tutorial TBD
Evening: Affiliates' dinner and Workshop kickoff
Wednesday, October 24. C/SCM 16 Forum sessions
