About Weekly Effort Metrics
General Instructions
- Everybody in the class needs
to submit the Weekly Effort Form by Monday midnight.
- You will receive 3 points
for submitting a Weekly Effort Form each week for the corresponding week.
- If you submit a Weekly Effort
Form late after Monday, you will receive 1 point.
- If you submit a Weekly Effort
Form for the incorrect week, you will not receive the 3 points.
- Other than the incentive of
receiving the two points, you should submit your Weekly Effort Form on
time, to give the author of the Weekly Status Report (due on Tuesdays)
enough time to analyze the Weekly Effort Forms of the team members
- Week #xx includes the
effort spent on project related activities, between Monday and Sunday
(inclusive) of Week #xx.
- Week #01 starts on Jan 29,
since all the teams would have been formed, and all the project
assignments finalized by Jan 29.
- Special Cases:
- Week #00 includes all
the effort (if any) spent on the project, from the point of turning in
the LCA packages up to Jan 29.
- If you will be working
on the project during Spring Break, then you should submit a Weekly
Effort Form for Week #07
- Week #14 includes any
effort spent on project related activities (e.g., late transition
activities) beyond the May 04 deadline, when all the deliverables are
due.
- The hours you enter will NOT
be used for grading purposes. The data is intended to be used for research
at the Center of Software Engineering, so please enter accurate
and meaningful data.
- The Weekly Effort data is
kept confidential: you need to provide a password to submit your
Weekly Effort Form (to prevent someone from impersonating you) and only
your team members can view your Weekly Effort Report.
- It is NOT recommended
that you submit the Weekly Effort Form multiple times: every time you
submit the form, the data will be appended to the Weekly Effort Report for
your team. If you do that accidentally, then you have to live with it. The
Teaching Assistant will not manually correct the problem.
- You may want to print out the
Weekly Effort Form, and fill out the hard copy (this way, it might be
easier to keep track of your hours as you go along), and then copy the
values from the paper form to the online form every Monday
