Background:
Every semester, the CS dept is responsible for allocating TA's and graders to courses. The process involves getting information from prospective TAs and graders, relating them to the course needs and Professors desires, and finalizing the selections. Currently, this is all done by email or manually which is time consuming.

Also, every semester many computer science graduate students take directed research units under various professors to work in their field of interest. The CS department is responsible for keeping track of this information. It is also responsible for mailing a timely reminder to the professors when the units are due and sending them the list of students who have taken directed research units under them. Most of this is now done manually in the CS dept office.

Problem:
The project involves automating/semi-automating these processes. The clients would like a system that would keep track of:

- The students applying for the TA and grader positions and their information
- An interface for the CS dept staff to view and make the necessary allocations
- The students who have taken directed research units.
- The professors under whose supervision the students are conducting research.
- Send multiple reminders to professors and/or students when the grades are due.
- Retrieve reports on demand

Constraints:
Web Based

Desired Deliverables:
TBD
