I have posted the team structure per today's team mixer. Here's the URL: http://sunset.usc.edu/classes/cs577a_2002/teams.htm
Now a couple of important instructions & announcements:
#1 Visit the above-mentioned page and locate yourself. If you are registered for this course and attended today's team-mixer then you should be able to find your name.
b) Those who didn't attend -- email me.
a) Those who attended but couldn't find their name -- email me (although, very
unlikely!).
c) If you see your name in the wrong place -- email me (again, very unlikely!).
#2 In the above-mentioned web page, you will observe that I have cited some teams with "Subject to Approval". DC means that you have 1 or more members in your team who haven't got D-Clearance yet. RM means you have remote students in your team. Regardless of your team being cited or not, your team leader MUST do the following:
a) Visit http://sunset.usc.edu/classes/cs577a_2002/projectlist.htm
and check the Project Offerings.
b) Discuss your preferences with the entire team.
c) Send me your 1st FOUR Preferences from the list of project offering with
your team number as assigned in the teams page (teams.htm).
#3 On Monday, professor Ann Majchrzak (guest lecturer) from the Business School will lecture on "Dealing with Clients". Your presence is imperative because:
a) It will be your FIRST interaction with your clients.
b) You will have to team up with your clients for a class exercise which will
help you in understanding each other.
#4 To know who your clients are, you need to be assigned to a project and for
which you would need to send me your first four preferences by Sunday, September
8th, morning (earlier, if possible). I will inform you of your project assignment
by Sunday evening. Although we have different algorithms for assigning projects
but first-come-first-serve does help (sometimes) in decision-making. So, HURRY!
#5 Homework #3 is due next Wednesday, September 11, in class. Now that we have updated our project list, you have a wider choice for your S&C Analysis.
#6 Finally, make sure that ONLY the team leaders email me with your project preferences. If you haven't yet decided your roles, identify a proxy for the time being and make sure that I get ONLY one email per team. This will avoid confusion and we will learn that you do have a cohesive team and that you are all set for the ride!
